What We Believe
Four positions shape everything we do. They are not aspirations. They are the reasons our advice sometimes costs us work.
Most organisations have never measured their own drone activity. They are working from an impression — a sighting someone reported, an incident at a similar site, a vendor briefing that made the risk sound urgent. Nobody has counted. Until someone does, every procurement decision is a guess.
Measurement should come before procurement. A temporary sensor deployment costs a fraction of a permanent system, and it routinely changes what gets bought — or whether anything gets bought at all. Doing it the other way round is how organisations end up owning capability that does not match their threat.
In Australia, legal authority is the binding constraint, not technology. Detection is broadly available. Interfering with a drone is not, and in practice is confined to specified agencies under specified authorities. Capability that cannot lawfully be switched on is not capability, however well it performs in a demonstration.
“You do not need this” is a legitimate finding. It is also one no vendor can deliver, because it costs them the sale. It costs us nothing. That is the whole reason our advice is worth having when we say the opposite.
Our Vision
That no Australian organisation buys counter-drone capability without first knowing what is actually flying over its site.
It is a modest ambition and a specific one. The waste in this market does not come from bad technology. It comes from good technology bought against an imagined threat.
Our Mission
To make sure organisations invest in the right counter-drone capability — or in none at all — by measuring the real activity over their site, defining the operational requirement before the technology, testing capability against performance and legal authority rather than datasheets, and advising without any commercial interest in what gets bought.
We do not lead with technology. We define the requirement first.
What We Will Not Do
We do not sell, resell or distribute counter-drone systems, and we hold no commissions or exclusive agreements with any manufacturer.
We do not recommend capability before a site has been assessed.
We do not assess against fibre-optic controlled or fully autonomous aircraft. Those threats emit nothing to detect, they belong to a military problem set, and anyone claiming to measure them reliably over an Australian commercial site is selling you something.
We do not advise on response options an organisation has no lawful authority to use — beyond explaining who does, and what you would need to hand them.
